“A path well worn,

By foot we walked.

On by those fields once tended

Rolling rye, scattered trees,

A hare in brush, watches us pass.

Stay on that path, they tell us

For the highways hold dangers

As the sun sets low.

So we follow the road,

Once stepped by Romans.

As many of those before us,

Left their mark on that ancient soil.”
